The Challenge

I began by researching Surinamese cultural symbols to ensure the design felt authentic and respectful. At the same time, I reviewed local food competitors to identify how Burnie Foods could stand out with a modern yet familiar look. Using bold colors and dynamic shapes, I blended traditional elements with a fresh, energetic style. To create a personal connection, I made Ino Burnett, the founder, a key part of the brand identity. This human focus helped bring warmth and approachability to the logo, menus, uniforms, and other materials, creating a cohesive brand that feels both vibrant and welcoming.
The Result
The final brand identity provided Burnie Foods with a distinctive presence in the marketplace. The mix of cultural elements and modern design successfully captured the spirit of Surinamese cuisine while attracting a diverse audience.
